DADE CITY | Lake Region senior Sydney Devore ran a personal-best 18:10 to finish fourth on a chilly Saturday morning in the 2008 FHSAA Class 3A Girls Cross Country Meet at Little Everglades Ranch.

Devore led Lake Region to a 10th-place finish. She was the highest-finisher of any runner from Polk in any of the races.

The Lakeland Christian girls were the highest-finishing team, coming in fifth in the 1A girls race. The Vikings were led by Rebecca Eaves, who came in 17th, and Jessica Fuller, who was 19th.
