Colonial boys, 3 area runners capture state cross country championships

DADE CITY — Central Florida runners won three individual titles and one team title at Saturday's state cross country meet, and one of the individual champs kept running and running and running.

Instead of breaking stride at the finish line, as did nearly every other runner, Class 1A boys champion Ryan Gousse kept going. He ran through the media area and back along the infield until he found a place by the railing from where he could cheer his Trinity Prep teammates to the finish line.
