FHSAA State 3A Cross Country ChampionshipsPublished by
In the girls competition,
Chiles placed three runners among the top ten overall and won the Class
3A State Cross Country title for the third consecutive year! With this win, the 2010-2011 senior class became
the most successful class in Chiles cross country history. During their
four years they won four district titles, four region titles, three
state titles and one state runner-up title.Junior Lily Williams
(17:58) led the team as she crossed the finish line in second place
overall among the 181 runners. Junior Carly Thomas (17:59), the 2009
individual champion, also had a very strong race and placed fourth
overall, just one second back of Williams. Seniors Jodie McGuff
(18:49/10th) and Kelley Bahn (21st/19:32) each ran run a strong race.
With their strong performances, these four young ladies each earned
FHSAA All-State Honors. Sophomore Sara Lane, running in her first ever
state meet, came through with a big performance and rounded out the
