The 2016 Florida FHSAA State XC Championships saw ideal running conditions especially for the earlier races.  Although the temperatures did start to climb for the later races, it's about as good as one could have hoped for.  A dry, fast course at Apalachee Regional Park, affectionately known as the XC Playground, was the Epicenter for the best teams in the State. 

GIRLS MERGED RESULTS

On the day, the Girls from Pine Crest proved to be the best team.  Helped by having the first race of the day, the Panthers blazed the ARP course to the 4th best ever team average at the State Championships going 18:41 and scoring 114 points.

DyeStat Southeast ranked #3 Niceville was the second fastest team on the day.  We'll see what the new rankings produce but we can fully expect Pine Crest to move ahead of Niceville in the Southeast rankings with both teams having NXNSE aspirations.

BOYS MERGED RESULTS

We all knew the Boys Team battle in 2A was going to be epic (Read More).  The State Meet would give race fans what they had clamored for all year in a 2A heated showdown with DyeStat ranked #5 Trinity Prep, Bolles and Satellite all hoping to defend their unbeaten streak of wins against in-state foes alive.

At the end of the day, Trinity Prep proved to be the best team in the State with fellow 2A teams Bolles and Satellite in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
